Why is it needed to use the Lord's name in vain?
Hi there,
I am one of EA's biggest fans in terms of franchise loyalty (I have played EA games as early as 98). And I have always seen the EA logo as a sign of a quality product and something worth buying. It game to a point where I barely had to watch reviews of EA games because I trusted your professionalism and commitment to deliver great games.
My question is this: Why has it become necessary for games (yes freaking games) to use the Lord's name in vain? I played bf4 and it did it and I ignored it because I mainly play online (and there I can choose what I want to hear in terms of dialog). Two days ago I bought bf hardline and there it was again! I have just finished episode one of the campaign and doubt that I will finish it although I really want to - (my gripe is that I can only play half of an R 899.00 game!).
Please just answer me this... why has it become necessary? do you feel so little towards your customers?
Kind regards
Voxfan
Hi, I already removed one unnecessarily hostile response, so i'll lock the thread after the this.
As for your question, I can't speak directly for the devs, but my read is that it's an authenticity/"realism" factor. Soldiers, cops and robbers swear -often profusely- and being shot at is stressful.
For future purchases I recommend checking the ratings given by boards such as the ESRB or PEGI as these will indicate the sort of content contained within a game.
