Windows 10 high ping
Hi guys, 3 days ago I have installed Windows 10 and currently im facing huge ping spikes (1000-1500ms). All of this happened after the installation. I switched back to Windows 8.1 and since then I di...
Hi Troops,
I am also experiencing a high ping in BF4. spiking from 50+ to 200+.and being kicked regularly which is frustrating when I no such problems with Windows 7, Some servers are not as bad as others, I have no idea the reason for that !?
My system is brand new, 6th August 2015, built by scan, it is a 3XS Z97 Vengeance inte Core i7 4790K overclocked to 4.7GH, 4GB NVIDA Geforce GTX 980, ASUS - F8 Motherboard. I installed Windows 10 from switching it on. I installed BF4 from scratch once window 10 was up and running Also WOT which runs and plays fine. I have tried as suggested to play as administrator this does reduce the Ping a bit but not enough to stop one being kicked for spikes. I have nothing running in the back ground having checked task manager. I would like to keep Windows 10, also my Broadband speed check results are Down load 14688 kbps and up load is 1829 kbps.
all drivers are up to date and I play through Internet Explorer 11, Punk buster is up to date.
I am now at the end of my tether and can only think it is the Windows 10 platform which is the overall problem and just does not like BF4.
run cmd as admin
type ping -n 500 battlelog.com press enter
post results
after ping -n 500 you can write server ip address
ping -n 500 176.57.184.20 press enter
post results
At first I fixed it though this though its not going to be a popular option AND CERTAINLY NOT if the problem reoccurs like it has for me.
Here is what I did:
I went to windows Update & Security -> Recovery -> Reset this PC -> Get started
DO NOT KEEP YOUR FILES.
Reinstall your stuff.
However I have it again:
Several days later I have it again....
So I tried ping test, certain that the packet loss was immense and got the result from there:
http://www.pingtest.net/result/129119258.png So apparently still fine, it was pretty stable at this result the entire time.
Results from cmd ping -n 500 battlelog.com
Ping statistics for 54.230.129.191:
Packets: Sent = 500, Received = 500, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 33ms, Maximum = 1267ms, Average = 136ms
Results from cmd ping -n 500 176.57.184.20
Ping statistics for 176.57.184.20:
Packets: Sent = 500, Received = 500, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 44ms, Maximum = 1264ms, Average = 148ms
this occurs for me in both the normal Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 4 CTE version.
I tested those individual servers with the cmd ping test that I also used above.
The results are pretty much Identical.
I also notice that in all connections I get a bad ping after the same duration, look:

Here is the ingame performence test btw: http://i.imgur.com/BWRVi3p.png
It is accompanied by a 999 ping ingame... I think that is linked to the 1000+ ms spike every x amount of time I just showed.
you are only one who is using your network ?
those ping spikes can cause to many network users on same router or just bad ISP .
someone is watching youtube , someone starts downloading some *orn , and you just get ping spikes in game 🙂
Try to contact your ISP and ask why network latency is so bad .
