Solved

windows 8.1 64bit, APPLICATION ERROR( 0xc000007b).

READING LOADS OF THREADS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BUT STILL CANNOT FIX IT ANY KNOW SOLUTION PLEASE? NOT WORKING FOR EITHER X86 OR X64

  • ok this is a copy from a post I just did if it helps great if not sorry ......

    I have a idea for you not sure it will work for you or not but I would try sfc /scannow its a system file checker in windows and repairs windows errors. It has fixed a few BF4 errors for me as it fixed windows issues and in turn made BF4 more stable lol. See this link for info how to do it.... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

    When I run it and it cant fix all the errors then I reboot and run it again until it finds zero errors. Also always  run the command prompt as admin

    This next part  only works for win 8,1 and win 8 if I recall correct ......    if you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired, run this command
    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    Sadly we may think our windows are stable but when we look in event viwer and see errors you can bank its not lol. So this is why I run
    sfc /scannow as it has saved me many a format and fixed a few issues with BF4 caused by errors in windows. I hope this will help you. Edit if it does help you give me a XP so others know it helps.

  • Have you looked in your event viwer and googled the event id and source with your O/S ?  Your post does not give much info I take it the error comes when playing BF4. Just in case you dont know event viwer can be found in Control Panel Administrative Tools if you need more info how to use it just post back and I will try to help you.

    I followed the steps but still no success. error pops up again.

    Result of System File Checker was:

    "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

    solution for Windows 8.1, 8 also didn't work.

    I am using Windows 8.1 x64 Pro.  0xc000007b error pops up for most games. Fifa 14, Blur, COD Black Ops/ Ghosts.
    I have updated every thing. [ visual c++ 2008, 2010 , 2012  , directx ] but all in vain.

  • wow this is from a semi old post thats ok 😕mileytongue: Have a look at this link it may help as he lists things to try.,.Edit .. I would turn off apps and programs in task manager as much as you can to make sure its not from app or program / clean boot

    Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

    This should ensure that no programs are interfering in the background.
