Xbox 360 controller flight first person view issue

I have my xbox 360 flight controls setup to where in jets the left trigger is to lower throttle / brake and in helicopters it is to lower the collective. 

I have the right joystick on the controller set to bank/roll on both jets and helicopters. However, when I have the left trigger held down, the right joystick is completely unresponsive. 

This is only a problem in first person view. In third person, controls function as intended with no issues.

I've gone through keybindings in options figuring it was bound to free look or something, but no dice. (pun intended). 

It's a really annoying issue that was not present in BF3 and one I hope can be fixed promptly so flying with an xbox 360 controller is once again a smooth experience.

I don't think QA testers missed this bug as its a rather obvious one.
