Xbox One DLC expansions causing black screen freeze when loading maps

When either China Rising or Second Assault are installed, the game frequently freezes up during the map loading screen when I join a server and almost always when I play a second match on a server. It doesn't even have to be a DLC map. Heck, even the Test Range frequently freezes up during loading when the DLC content is installed. Removing the DLC always cures the problem for me.

Notice: I'm specifically talking about the game freezing on the black loading screen prior to the map loading screen before a match. The loading icon in the upper right hand corner freezes up and it stays on this black screen for a long time until the game eventually kicks back to the main menu or sometimes to the Dashboard.

I have reinstalled the game 4 times and the DLC content a dozen times by now. It's always the DLC that's making the game freeze up. This began after the December 13th patch. I've never been able to play more than 2 matches in a row with the DLC installed. 

Anyone else experiencing this specific problem? Please don't derail the topic with complaints about in-game-crashing. That's another problem and it's not the topic of this discussion.

UPDATE:

I tested it, once again, even when exiting a match or the Test Range, the game can frequently freeze on the black loading screen. And again removing the DLC expansions cured the problem....

At this point I'm 100% sure the DLC is causing issues freezing issues.

    Bump. Keeping this on the first page. There's no mention of freezing on the Issue Tracker, yet so many people have complaints about it. At least in my case I've narrowed down what the culprit is for the problem.

    I get exact same bug. Black screen when loading new map almost every time – but when I uninstalled the Premium DLC (China Rising and Second Assault), the bug went away.

    Well, now I know I'm not alone in this. You were able to duplicate and fix the bug the same way I was able to. I just want someone from EA support to acknowledge this already.

    Hello Stellroo7,

    I think I'm having the exact same problem.  My problem seems to occur when I install Second Assault.  Below are my steps for testing.

    Original problem occurs 99% of the time I play. Literally, at the end of every game I have to dashboard and then quit BF4, and wait about 10 seconds to launch it again. If I don’t, I’ll hang at the black cursor between rounds, and most of the time will never see the End Of Round Details screen at all.

    All tests were done with Ranked (hardcore) and official (normal) all on Conquest Large. I don’t think this matters but figured I’d include it.

    Hard reset my Xb1 for the heck of it before running test
    - Tried playing 4 games. Each time it hung in between map loads as expected.
    - I Uninstalled China rising and Second Assault
    - Played 4 games without any problems. I didn't have to quit out between any of the games.
    -- For testing purposes, I played a game and verified it loaded the next map without any problems. I then quit out of bf4 to repeat the process. I did this so I wasn't sitting on the same server between each test.
    - I then installed China Rising and played 4 games without having any problems between map loads.
    -- At this point everything worked perfectly.
    - I finally installed Second Assault and the problem showed up again.
    -- I played 4 games and each time I had to dashboard and quit out.
    --- Something of interest during the install of Second Assault. I also remember seeing this issue the first time I ever installed it.
    ---- When the install gets past the 99% mark it displays Installed Stopped. I remember reading a thread that said to hard reset the xbox and the install will then be complete on boot up.  I've tried multiple downloads but this is the only way I can get the install to work.

    ----- I wonder if everyone has this install problem and if not, does it correlate with the hang issue?
