Forum Discussion
I appreciate your report on this.
Our team has been informed, but for now, I do not have any additional information.
Update: I was wrong about what I said originally. It turns out that Battlefield has amazing controller support built in. I can easily use a mouse on the right hand and controller on my left. I hadn't played BF in a couple of years when I made this post so after trying to play BF again and having ds4windows blocking me from playing, I had forgotten about the built-in controller support and got frustrated. Eventually I tried again and discovered that I was wrong. I thought you should know.
Update 2: Why does this comment along with everyone else's say it was made 2 years ago? I made it in the summer of 2025. Odd.
Original post.
I use a thumbstick on a hori mini ps4 controller which is programmed to be arrow keys for movement. The only way I can accomplish this is with ds4windows. I have tried other similar apps to make it work, but anticheat still won't let me play. I can't play without this thumbstick so please whitelist ds4windows or explain why it's such a problem so that I can put Battlefield games behind me and move on with my life.
Edit: I should clarify that I use a Logitech G700s mouse in my right hand and the thumb stick in my left. The thumbstick acts as the arrow keys and not analog. End of Edit.
Also, I could probably use the steam controller configuration tool except that I bought the game on Origin years ago and I'm not buying it again just to have it on steam. If you look at my account, you'll see that I've already bought it on Playstation and Origin along with BF1. I've owned most of the BF games going back to 1942, but I quit a few years ago due to rampant cheaters.
Please reconsider and whitelist ds4windows.
Thank you.
