Battlefield Randomely Crash after upgrading to RTX 3080

Hi Everyone

I've recently encountered a problem during Battlefield play.

The game randomly crashes to desktop during play around 5-10 minutes+

I am using 1070ti and Then upgraded it to RTX 3080.

My specs

Ryzen 2700

16GB CL14 2400 Memory sticks

RTX  3080 VISION OC

650W GOLD EVGA MODULA PSU

B450 AORUS PRO.

I'm not sure if it is the graphic card that's causing the trouble. I'm fine during playing LOL(League).

Driver version 460.

I've tried a lot of solutions like undervolt, reinstall OS. updating Windows And all drivers. config PAGE File, etc.

Anyone can help me diagnose where the problem might be?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the details! @Marsopop for the dxdiag was intended that you uploaded it here so we can see what hardware/drivers you got.

Can you try to run Origin and BFV as Admin?

    Hey man

Sorry to know that you are encountering a problem too.

    Few My personal suggestions:

    1. Don't rush to replace any parts of your pc.  I nearly replaced everything to know that the problem did not come from hardware failure.

    2. Besides using DDU and etc. I would prefer clean windows install. That way you are sure that the PC is out of any other issue.

    3. Check your GPU power draw if it is normal. two separate 8Pin cables should be carried out from PSU  not  2 *8 pins from one cable.

    4. Do you just CTD or some errors occur?

    5. My build is pretty similar to you. Got the same ram sticks and cooling instead of X73 I got x63. My Mobo and CPU are still not upgraded. The graphic is 3080 Vision OC. 850W aorus Gigabyte

Let me know if your issue has been fixed or not.

  • @MarsopopHi thanks for the quick response.

I have a few software issues with the pc. I want to make a clean windows reinstall in February.

My card requires 3 8pin cables. So i need to take one splitter cable and a single cable cause i only have 2 single 8 pin power cables.

The PC just CTD no error or anything. Ill try to play AC Valhalla maybe it also crashes.

Just played Valhalla everything seems fine for this game.

I would suggest you connect one more 8 pins from PSU. if possible ofc.

and clean install of windows is strongly advised.

CTD without error is mostly caused by Graphic card instability.

Let me know if anything updated.

  • @Marsopop 3x 8Pin Power Cable are attached to the GPU

Also Played Black Ops Cold war and didnt crash either.

I guess Bf5 is just corrupted.

    Yeah

No matter how much this game is optimized. It is kinda faulty.

Each profile acts differently on the individual game.

To me same profile used to play, BFV can't be used to play  HITMAN  just for example.

PS: Profile I mean OC preset for the GPU.

Hope your game gets fixed. GG bro.

Good To hear that your issue no longer exists.

    Congratz

  • @Marsopop Thank you! I love you! I got the same problem after buying a video card and thought it was broken. But it turned out to be due to overclocking the RAM. On 2070 before everything worked stably. God bless you all the best.
  • @Mystic8b Hey there Thanks for the message I am glad that this thread was helpful to you and that the issue has been solved unfortunately the game has many hackers I find it very hard to enjoy the game but generally speaking it is a great game . Hope you'll have better experience .
  • This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield V, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
