    For me it was Windows Defender that blocked the settings file, controlled folder access disabled and it works fine!

thank you so much, you do not know how much you just saved me, i have not only had this problem on battlefield v, but on almost every steam game, my documents folder wouldn't save any files and i had to keep changing all my graphics settings, display, some even keybinds, thanks so * much. luv u
