Battlefield V

Battlefield V won't download.  In the Origin app I've entered my redeem code and I see BFV in my games list. When I select BFV and then  select Download, it says's it can't write to the designated f...

    Hey @ArjunaDave, glad to hear that you got sorted but it is possible to install and download to the C drive. When you see the error that you saw in your second last post you can just click on the option to the left and direct your install to your prefered folder. 

    To move your games to a new folder just follow the steps below and you should be good to go:

    1. Copy your Origin Game Library folder to wherever you want it.
      • The default location is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\”
    2. Set the Origin Game Library Location to the new location.
      • In Origin open up Settings
      • Select the “Installs & Saves” tab.
      • Under “Game library location” select “Change folder…”
      • Locate the new folder.
    3. Start a download for each game you’ve moved.
      • In Origin open up “My Game Library”
      • Find each game you’ve moved.
      • Press “Download”
      • Origin will skip downloading any files that are already there and update any that need to be updated.
    4. When Origin is done updating each game it will be ready to play.

Darko, thanks for posting back. I'm on a new PC. C Drive is a 512 GB flash drive and I only have 35Gb free. So that could be it. I have a 2TB hard drive (D Drive) and it's got 1TB free. How can I move all my Origin games to the D Drive?

Darko,

I have freed up 107Gb of data on my C Drive. I tried installing the game into the Origin Games directory as before. But I now get a Folder not writable error as per the attached screendump. I'll try disabling my ESET anti virus and see if that works.

    Darko,

    Disabling ESET had no effect. I still get the Folder not Writable error message. OK, my next best guess is this being caused by an assumption that I don't have permission to write to the Program Files directory. I'll try installing onto my D Drive.

      OK it's downloading now to D:Program Files\Battlefield V. So there is definitely some folder filtering going on. I'm fine with that, but I recommend you let users know that you can't download to C:Program Files (x86). That would save some user heartache.
