BF5/PC - Sprint on toggle makes character stop moving randomly.

Hello,

On PC, When setting sprint to toggle i recently started having issues that my character stops moving every 5-10 seconds. Sometimes it stops sprinting an just goes normal walking speed.

When setting sprint to hold i have no issues. But this is not my prefered setting.

I've been playing for months and i seems to have started after the recent update but that might be a coincidence.

Regards,

Martijn

  • Hey @CarpeDiem-NLD  what keyboard and software are you using?

Also with the latest patch (yesterday) do you still have the same issue?

  • Hi @EA_Atic,

I was going to reply today as i found out a bit more,.

I did not check the latest patch yet, at least i did not get a download since that large update.

I use Corsair iCue software on the latest version. I found out yesterday that quiting that program does take away the symptoms but i dit not test in combination with the patch.

So i will try to test more asap.

    Regards,

    Martijn

  • PS: I use the Corsair K70 RGB MK.2

And it's with all the battlefield and battlefront games i've got

(tried battlefront 1 and 2 and battlefield I and V)

Hey @CarpeDiem-NLD  Thanks for the updates! :D

Can you try to key bind another button and see if the same issue happens, a colleague of mine said he had a similar issue with an older Corsair keyboard.

  • Hi @EA_Atic,

I dont play that much so it takes some time for me to test.

    My current findings

    •  I know it sounds weird but it seams to be worse with the support class than the assault class. I prefer either one and i just noticed this difference
    • It seams to starts after a few minutes of playing so not directly from the start
    • Closing iCue during game play does not change behavior
    • Restarting BF5 after closing iCue seams to help

It might very well be that its not a BF5 issue but a combination of my drivers and software but O..M..G.. this is so frustrating. I just keep stop moving randomly and ofcourse i then get shot 😠. And i have no clue how to properly analyze this with all the variables.

One thing i do know is that i never had this issue and it started about two weeks ago so it must a some kind of update.

I did not try the key binding yet but i will do that tonight.

PS: Are there any console ("~") commands i can try to help me get to the root cause of this?

    Regards,

    Martijn

Interesting that you notice it on another class over others. issue starting after a while, when playing is any hardware maxing out or anything over heating?

Do you have another keyboard to test with? @CarpeDiem-NLD ,

No console command that you can use to debug it.

  • Hi @EA_Atic,

I finally got to testing another keyboard and it seams that there is an issue with the Corsair K70.

    See more references:

I am going to send it back to get repaired of replaced and hopefully the issue is gone when i get it back.

I will let you know when it returns... probably in two months time ☹️

Glad to hear :D that we found the cause but sad to hear it was the keyboard! ☹️ @CarpeDiem-NLD

Thanks for the update and best of luck to get it repaired
