An update on my partt:
Thew eaanticheat service does actually puit some error log into the WIndows Eventviewer. In my case it was complaining about a "asmtufdriver.sys" after which it crashed.
This seems to be a leftover driver (ASmedia) from my previous mainboard, which i was not able to really uninstall.
That driver/file was showing up on all of my USB hubs in "Drive Manager".
I managed to at least disable the loading of this by opening the registry editor and following these steps:
- Go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class"
- Search for "ASMTFilter"
- remove that string from (in my case: ) "UpperFilters" key
Note: There is also an entry at "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ASMTFilter". I did NOT delete that one.
then reboot.
BF V started fine afterwards.
Note: BF 2042 and BF 1 didn't care about that driver. It was just BF V having the issue ....
If you do not have the same issue, still look inte the Event Viewer -> Windows Logs and check the ERROR entries for the EAcheat service. It may at least provide a clue on what is causing the issue
