You are my f**** hero !!
thanks a lot. You solved it while I was already stepping ionto the trap by deleting the service completely, which left me without mouse and keyboard during the next reboot. Well if anyone reads this and did the same, here is a tip:

Start Windows 3 times by powering/resetting down during the boot process. Then you get into the repair mode. Just start the COMMAND window, open REGEDIT, go to the HKLM tree and over the menu select LOAD HIVE > load the SYSTEM registry from the correct windows>system>config path..... edit it. In my case I did a REGISTRY backup of the deleted tree and just read it out, recreated it and voilá, windows starts again with no problems.

    An update on my partt:

Thew eaanticheat service does actually puit some error log into the WIndows Eventviewer. In my case it was complaining about a "asmtufdriver.sys" after which it crashed.

This seems to be a leftover driver (ASmedia) from my previous mainboard, which i was not able to really uninstall.

That driver/file was showing up on all of my USB hubs in "Drive Manager".

I managed to at least disable the loading of this by opening the registry editor and following these steps:

    - Go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class"

    - Search for "ASMTFilter"

    - remove that string from (in my case: ) "UpperFilters"  key

Note: There is also an entry at "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ASMTFilter". I did NOT delete that one.

    then reboot.

    BF V started fine afterwards.

Note:  BF 2042 and BF 1 didn't care about that driver. It was just BF V having the issue ....

If you do not have the same issue, still look inte the Event Viewer -> Windows Logs and check the ERROR entries for the EAcheat service. It may at least provide a clue on what is causing the issue

I do have the same issue with Battlefield V,  2042 and 1 are working fine, but ion BF V i do get the same error messagfe with that service.

    I tried numerous things:

    - Uninstall/Reinstall ea anticheat

    - Uninstall/reinstall BF V

    - Uninstall/ reinstall EA App

    - Doing all of tghe above as Admin

    - CLosing any known tools (Logitech/(Razor...)

Still, BF V keeps closing with that service error.

  • Hello @ReLaX120708,

You should try reinstalling the game, most of the time it clears the problem.

    Best regards,
