Can't use chat in battlefield 5
So i have been having this problem since BETA, i could use chat normally in the 2 closed alphas but since beta when i try to write in chat i can't send any message, i can write but when i send the me...
Correct!
I just spend 1½ hour with Costumer Service trying to figure out what the h**l was going on... Turns out that my former Nickname (since 1998 and been used on Orign since 2009) is partly spanish slang for a certain male body part...
How the heck do we check against slang... I mean former word was in one word Ra bon zo but the first two parts Ra and bon means that male bodypart...
I am highly unamused by this broken filter... I MIGHT understand it, if it was on a SPANISH SERVER! But who the heck knows this stuff without knowing spanish o0
I am now named Rabnozo instead... workaround but looks wrong obviously for me :P
Also, on Forums I am still allowed to be named Rabonzo, so how bad could it really be?
Hey @Rabnozo
Can you confirm whether this was fixed after you changed your name?
i can confirm, after changing my name to some random aaahhhaaahh whatever, i suddenly was able to chat - see screenshot attached.
with the absurd situation that now i cannot revert my name back to what it has been until now - n3crophyt3 or necrophyte. something with necroph/n3croph triggers the prohibited word/character alert, as n3crop/necrop is accepted (already taken).
so.... how can i get my ca. 10-years old name back now? necrophyte or n3crophyt3, doesnt matter.
please EA DICE fix thisssss :D
This is absurd and extremely frustrating. I have had this username since BF3 and it is in no way offensive. Fix your broken chat nerf, EA.
Sorry for the long delay! I've been busy playing, but I can see this thread is STILL not dead... Yes, I can now write in the game under then name Rabnozo as the **** Filter implented in BF V thinks my name Rabonzo is split up into Rabon (Which apparently means dong in spanish slang) and zo instead of looking at it as a whole... So, in other news, we have to take into account any common language in the world + slang when making names now. 2½h of support to figure this out, by a random chance I googled when I tried to change my name back to Rabonzo and it kept saying it was a no-no word, untill I figured out it was Rabon that was the issue, Rabo is fine, but then I would have bozo in the end, which is not fine...
All in all, my workaround works with the "wrong name"
I still can't see my chat, my ID is Trapper36 cant see whats profane in that.
