Well, as there is no official counter-knife thing in BFV it was probably something else that influenced this situation.
If it's been lag/input delay/different speed of internet connection or whatsoever.
Certain melee weapons might have even different speeds when triggered for the animation and therefore it could have some small advantage as well.
