Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just join a server while playing on a 1440p monitor and wait for the map image to appear on screen.
What happens when the bug occurs? Visual anomalies can be seen as dark semitransparent bands through the screen.
What should be happening instead? The image should not contain these anomalies

An image with the bug itself and my ingame settings can be found on this album on imgur:

Gpu and screen scaling are irrelevant, the problem persists with both. Refresh rate is irrelevant too. The only thing that avoids the bug is lowering my resolution to 1080p.

  • @EA_Barry Ty for your reply. I uninstalled the radeon software and made a clean install of my nvidia drivers, also repaired the game in the origin client and the problem still persists. The same problem happens too in Battlefield 1, but it does not happen in Bf4 or other games.
  • Do you use HDMI or display port cable for the monitor? @VileJAVI

    And do you have G-sync/free sync on the monitor?

  • @EA_Atic Yes, I own a Lenovo Legion Y27gq-25 27" WLED QuadHD 240Hz G-Sync conected via Display Port.

    Btw, I think the problem has been fixed after switching to the minimum latency preset in video options menu. So I would bet that the problem is related to one or more video options that must be bugged for 1440p.

    @VileJAVI Cheers for the update!

    Interesting, I use 1440p monitor at home and I'm not notice this issue at all.

    I use: Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz 27 Inch WQHD Gaming Monitor, with an Nvidia 1080.

  • This happened to me too, 1440 165hz ROG monitor on G-Sync - only really noticeable on snowy maps.

    Thought the monitor was defective, but going to window mode and drawing the window around the desktop and the bars move with the game, confirming it a BF5 issue.

    I eventually found some info relating to ambient occlusion and you need to change this to another setting, My BF5 won't update at the moment saying files are in use but they're not! so I can't check.

    Anyhow try changing it from SSAO to HBAO (or vice-versa) and see if that works for you - it fixed mine.
