I have been unable to play BFV since this change.

  1. Load steam
  2. open BFV
  3. says needs EA anti cheat installing
  4. click OK
  5. nothing happens for few seconds
  6. EA app loads says 'preparing game'
  7. steam says 'validating game'
  8. then nothing

tried full reinstall twice

I also tried installing EA anti cheat manually but the list of games it shows does not include BFV from steam, only ones I have installed via EA app
