EA/DICE: Why are you no longer banning cheaters?

I have reported multiple blatant cheaters of late (including Batlefield Tracker reports) and they are not getting banned. Almost every cheater I reported before would get banned, but this is no longer the case.

The handling of the cheating situation in BFV is unacceptable. No working anti-cheat, no active admins banning people, and now reported cheaters keep terrorizing servers. Then there is the censorship on the forums where nobody is allowed to talk about cheating. This covering up of EA/DICE's incompetence is unacceptable. A total lack of respect for the paying customer. Take some pride in your product and support it properly.

You tell people to not talk about cheating (ridiculous) and tell people to just report instead. However, when blatant cheaters are not getting banned, that is a huge problem. EA, you are not doing your part and you have to be called out for it. Please do your jobs and stop hiding or running from the problem.

So, again... Why are blatant cheaters not being banned after being reported?

  • I've owned and played every title since BF1942.  I've been a server admin and anti-cheat member in multiple clans so I don't just yell "hax" when someone gets a lucky shot.  It's disheartening that EA has chosen to not include a viable anti-cheat or allow clans to police their own servers.  It's discouraging when the top 5 players on either (or both) team(s) have a KDR or 6/1 (or higher) when they're low rank players and all are ground pounding.  I'm sure there were a lot of "veteran" players like me who were disappointed in BF1's version of Fairfight but chose to give BFV a chance on the hope that EA would have used the information obtained in BF1 to make Fairfight much better in BFV.  I've reported people after doing due diligence and about 50% of the time, those players were banned.  Did the ban have teeth??  I doubt it since the global problem never diminished.  For the first time ever, I'm not going to prebuy a Battlefield title for the next iteration until I see effective anti-cheat and/'or better server support.

Ok, rant over.  I would be shocked if there is a response from someone from EA about this since I'm sure they're very aware of their shortcomings in the latest BF titles but it would be nice.

Difference is that DICE dosen't do anything

    Hello there,

To iterate from my post here

Our work against cheating in Battlefield V will continue, too. The members of our anti-cheat team are working daily towards making the battlefield experience as free of foul play as possible. Discussing technical detail into our methods may unfortunately make cheating worse, but we want you to know that we’re constantly fighting the battle.

As a reminder, there are steps you can take to help us keep the fight fair. You can report suspected cheaters through the Origin overlay if you're playing on PC, or through your respective consoles if you're playing on Xbox One or PlayStation® 4. This walkthrough will show you how. Also, protect your EA Account so it won’t be compromised and used by cheaters. Here’s how it’s done.

With this update, we'd like to remind you to please report cheating through our official channels, instead of discussing or highlighting it via forums. This means going forward we'll close threads regarding cheating to ensure our dedicated teams can action the reports via the appropriate channels.

With that said I'm closing this topic.
