@CLB_QuayNoid lol i wrote an extended post and my connection reset.
So:
1st try: update your modem/router firmware: my asus n55 went bonkers when i switched to fiber (100mb/s to 1000mb/s) and did not digest heavy packet traffic. So i bought a google mesh and all went fine.
Many older modem/routers have flaws in their firmwares: i noticed many asus modems have a botnet installed maliciously via a fw flaw putting their cpu at 100% all time and resulting in lag.
2nd: are you connecting via ethernet cable or wifi? which dns are you using? try 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and disconnect any other device on your lan and try gaming
3rd: did you try swapping your router? what are your ping status via speedtest or any reliable testing site for ISP rating?
many games do not require much network traffic but fps DO require many "hertz" to keep your pc and server in sync status => read: more packets more infos more accuracy
can you try swapping with another router/modem?
