With Direct X 12 enabled I noticed the game freezes every so often for a few seconds which seems like its random. When I go into spectator mode it is so choppy to the point it crashes the game. I'm thinking when there is to many things going on at once it causes some sort of issue. It does the same with ray tracing set to low or off so its not that was tested on multiple 2080ti's and also a 2070 all have the same issues. I also talked to others with the exact same issue I have.

Hey @xOnslaught Since the launch of the game there were some issues with the DX12 like FPS drops and stuttering.Does with DX11 those freezes still exist?I would recommend you to perform a clean install of the latest GPU drivers,you can download them from here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-usTo perform a clean drivers installation run the drivers .exe and by selecting custom installation tick the the box that says "Clean install" and then proceed as normal.Or you can do it by downloading DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller),this procedure is a bit more complicated but take a look at this post here were is perfectly described by @2042isNotBF https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/PC-BFV-Unplayable-since-Firestorm/m-p/7816010#M12442If i were you i wouldn't run the game in DX12.I also have an RTX card (2080) and i play it in DX11.

CPU: 6800k OCed @ 4.0 GHz (stable)MB: ROG Rampage V Extreme (latest bios)CPU Cooler - Hydro Series H115iRAM: Corsair Dominator platinum 32GB (3200MHz)GPU:Gainward RTX 2080 Phantom GLH Edition (not OCed)Even though i have Geforce experience installed i never run it.I also had these crashes that a lot of people are complaining about (not those related to DX12,the other type where your game would randomly freeze and bring you back to desktop) but i fixed it by tweaking some of my secondary and tertiary timings on my RAM.It never crashed since.IMO,it's also the game's fault,by design it's so demanding and unstable,that bring the rigs to their knees.For example one of my clan mates had to raise the voltage of his cpu in order to fix the crashes.He didn't have any problems with other AAA games like Assassin's creed odyssey or ,the latest tomb raider,or even with bf1 and bf4,only with bfv!Now back to the DX12.TBH,last time i used DX12 was back in December and i have had some performance drop (less fps-minor stuttering) respect to DX11.I changed back to DX11 and never tried DX12 since.In game my video settings are set to high with DX11.Actually a couple of hours ago i had this discussion withanother of my clan mates.He is having a 2070 with DX12 and told me that i should try it as it doesn't have issues anymore.i will try it and i'll let you know how it is.

@SnakeEyesPC Nice rig you have great taste in MB and ram :] 6 core 12 threads should be no issue with DX12.Let me know how it works when you test DX12. Edit make sure you turn off DXR in BFV in advanced video settings. I have your MB and ram in my other rig until today we just changed out the MB to the Rampage V 10 edition :/ long story :/ So now I am going to go set it up as the husband needs it to game on until his build is done.

Hey @2042isNotBF switched,as i told you,to DX12 and had no issues at all! I guess since the last time i tried DX12 the drivers got better and i have no stutters!I can't say for sure if i have had less FPS cause are more or less the same as they were with DX11.Yes,no DXR in multiplayer!I will enable it when i'll play the campaign for some eye candy.I'm more than happy with the performance of my setup but i was thinking in upgrading to the i9 9900k. Since you have the 9900k,would you recommend me the upgrade,will i see any big performance differences from the 6800k?

@xOnslaught I get random 1 second freeze/stutter with DXR enabled. With DXR disabled, the game is silky smooth. This still happens with the 430.39 Nvidia driver.

@SnakeEyesPC @groundedjet stated they have DXR off already and it's good as long as its off. Edit .. I have done the same thing reading post lol.

Once I get my other rig with a manual oc done on the ram I will take it into BFV to see how it acts as its a weaker CPU and video card etc to see how it acts with DX12 on . If I don't get time then I will get the husband to test it this w/e as he games on it just now. This sec its specs ...

I did not do your suggestion, as I have no problems with other games for hours. I think the game is at fault. Star Wars Battlefront 2 had a similar stutter issue when it was new. I play at ultra quality at 1080p with extra effects off, DXR, and DLSS. Disabling extra effects increases frame rate. A recent BFV update fixed crashing to desktop because of enabling DLSS.

Yep as others said run perfectly without DXR seen as its on the problem happens. The game is differently at fault have zero issues with all other ray tracing games.
