Speed test only shows results from a speed test server, probably close to your location, and has little to do with your connection to the EA servers.
You need to do a trace route of your hops to the EA servers themselves.
- 6 years ago@Plucky6922 Well it downloaded the game (origin app) with an average of 90 MB/s...so i really don't think i have a connection problem with the EA servers. In fact finding squad(in games) takes no more than 3-4 seconds.
Connecting to game servers are different mechanics from download/squad join.
Find the Battlefield V server IPs for your selected region you want to play in, then do a trace route from your PC to their IPs.
See if there are any nodes or "hops" that are giving you trouble on your path. - 6 years ago

@Chris22111983
I am not familiar with that trace application, so not sure exactly what I am reading, but what is up with hops 7-10?
Going to assume that the ping time is cumulative between all of the hops, so end result is 128 latency(64 ping * 2) to the server you selected, which means your connection to that sever is bad. - EA_Aljo6 years ago

Can you run that test again and make sure you follow each step? It looks like you missed running the poll. Thanks!
Also, keep in mind that the internet, in general, is facing much higher traffic as more and more people are isolating themselves. That is potentially causing connection issues.

128 would be pretty bad. What you're seeing is the ping and packet loss for each individual hop. However, if your connection starts out bad from the router, it can progressively get worse.

ok...let's see what happens

Those tests are looking pretty inconsistent. The first also only has 10 packets sent. Can you run it one more time and make sure you send 100 packets? Thanks!
Ok.More than 100 packets.

Thanks. That doesn't look bad. Can you try using alternate DNS servers with the instructions here: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using? Let me know what happens.

You know the problem is not on us.
The problem is on the EA side.
I have the * same problem. BUT, i was playing normal and from one minute to another it started during playing. So there were no changes on my side. No firewall, network drivers or updates. It was just STOPPING to leave me conncted. Its been that for days now and it doesnt change. Unimportant which time of day or night (if you want to mention that the connections are getting worse cause more people stay at home)
The point is, BF4 no problems. Ping 7 constantly working. BF5 worked for a week and suddenly stopped. during a session and never since recovered.

Hello, @FuUrselflI
What troubleshooting steps have you gone through so far?
All of them... including the clean boot.
I resetted the net stack.
Changed DNS Servers.
Deleted Origin Temp.
Reinstalled Origin.
Reinstalled BF5.
Updated all relevant Drivers.
Clean Bootet.
Resetted my router. (despite the fact that every other game works except bf5)
Its wired of course.
Bandwith of my internet connection is suitable.
But maybe its also worth to mention that all the game servers for my region are in europe. So the ping and packet loss to them will be way better than 100ms to california.

Can you run that trace again? I'd like to see if the results are similar as connections can fluctuate. Thanks!
Okay here the second one.
If you want to point out that theres "Unknown Host" or the host that doesnt give any reply. Those are free configurable by the ISP's to not answer to ping or name resolve requests.
The trace still arrived at the target destination and still theres not a single % loss.

Thanks for running the test again. Yes, I'm aware that those hops aren't returning results due to not allowing pings. This mostly looks good. The 5th hop is concerning as it spikes with an unfavorable worst ping on both tests. That should cause some lag, but I wouldn't think it would cause you to not be able to connect. It's possible though. Where are you located? You may not necessarily be passing through that hop when reaching the Battlefield servers.

The servers in that trace are located in California and i am located in Germany. So all the game servers that i play on are located over here in frankfurt. The closest ea servers are in dublin ireland. So usually it should be not necessarily that my way is through the trans atlantic cable which is the hop u mention btw. Due to high usage of Netflix and amazon prime in europe i guess this route is a bit more busy than usual. But still 100ms is not a big deal tho.
Btw the IP range 100.69 + 100.127 is the internal interconnection of the German Fibrechannel Company. My isp.
its the interconnections to the HQ and endpoint. All the fibrechannels are funneled through them.

You could also try using the European server listed in the UO Trace instructions to see what kind of results you get. Regardless, you've done most everything I can suggest. Have you checked to see if QoS is enabled on your router? That may help.
This is to the Account Server in Dublin.
The Network Node directly before is some Level 3 Node. So i wouldnt give too many on that either. The response from the account server itself is working just fine i would say.
4 pings loss on 461 pings is not that bad. Aswell an response time of 36ms for a distance of 1000km air line. So theres probably no reason.
- 6 years ago@EA_Aljo Romania.I also connected the iphone(same ISP) to the pc and used the phone as router(using the celular network) and started the game. The ping was 110 avg but i could join every game, despite the ping.

I'd recommend running at least 2 tests. That 5th hop has a really high worst ping. That's not good. You also have a little packet loss and even 1% can cause problems. What about QoS? Do you have that enabled?

If you can connect through a hotspot on your phone, that points to the issue being with your ISP. Do you also have more people on your home network since the social distancing began?
- 6 years ago@EA_Aljo Nope.Same internet users(me and my wife). What is interesting and also leads me to question the ea server is the fact that Battlefield 5 is the only game with this problem.I have installed Battlefield Bad Company 2,Call of Duty Modern Warfare(first one),Call of Duty Warzone,Heroes and Generals WW2,CSGO, and all of them work fine (on line multiplayer of course).
- 6 years ago@EA_Aljo I am going to contact the ISP.Please tell me what to ask or to request.
