Hey @MoonUtonight, looking at Dxdiag, your GPU drivers are out of date, I recommend that you download the new ones and see if that works after for you. 🙂

Let me know how that works out for you.

I did have the AMD Adrenaline drivers (18.11.1). But part of the possible solutions to having BFV crash back to the desktop was to uninstall drivers and revert back to basic drivers. Which is one of the suggestions I followed from EA_Blueberry. I am now using the Microsoft AMD driver. Along with rolling back to DX11, disabling the Origin overlay, and disabling the "future frame" setting, I have only experienced being dumped back to the desktop a couple of times. Compared to having it occur multiple times a day. So, I will stick with what works for now. That DxDiag was done awhile ago. But, thanks for the suggestion. In time I will try the latest drivers from AMD. But, I would like to see EA patch the game so DX12 can be used instead of DX11.

A update: I have still been fiddling and diddling with the settings as well as GPU drivers on my main gaming PC. I still have been getting dumped back to the desktop occasionally. I still have DX12 disabled on that system. As well as future frame rendering. And have graphics quality set to high rather than ultra. I did re-install the AMD Adrenaline driver package. It seems that as soon as I did that, the game would dump back to the desktop more frequently. So, I used DDU to completely wipe out all AMD related directories, as well as Registry entries. After re-boot, I updated the plain jane graphics driver up to Microsoft's AMD driver. I suspect that there are a couple of issues going on with that system. It could be the AMD RXVega series driver that causes BFV.exe to crash. Although, I would think I would get some sort of Windows 10 graphics error message if that were the case. I have an older AMD based system with a "Piledriver" CPU and a AMD R9390x GPU. Also running Windows 10 Pro with the latest October update. I had not installed BFV on this system yet. So, i did so last night as well as updated the installed AMD Adrenaline driver up to the latest version. I do have DX12 enabled. But not future frame rendering and am running at high quality graphics. As this card is bit old and cannot play the game at a reasonable frame rate if all the setting are set to the ultra settings. I have only played a few hours with this system, but did not experience any issues. So, this leads me to think that there may be some kind of issue with the different AMD GPU and the GPU driver. I will continue to mess with it and report my findings here.

I'm not sure I'm having the same problems as you do but I do get Hard crashes regularly in which I have to hard reboot. This only happens to me in Battlefield V.
At the launch of Battlefield V (the 9th of November or something) I played on an older PC with:
- Medion Mobo
- 8gb RAM
- i7 2600
- GTX 1060 3gb.
The fps on this pc was bad on low settings and it made me upgrade to:
- Asus Maximus hero VI
- 16 GB Ram
- i7 4770k (water cooled)
- GTX 1060 3gb (I kept the same GPU)
The performance of the game improved a lot with 100+ fps on High settings. However after the upgrade the hard crashes occured. With the older setup I had bad FPS but the game didnt crash a single time. Now I have solid fps but the game can crash within 5 minutes or after playing 4 hours.
I've posted a topic and received a reply for EA but nothing seems to help.
It doesnt happen on any other game except Battlefield V. Even Battlefield 1 runs without problems. So I'm 100% sure it's a Battlefield 5 side problem.

I have not had any issues since running DDU to clean out all previous AMD driver related files and drivers. I then did a clean install of the AMD Adrenaline driver package. I haven't had any issues since that for the most part. One or two but nothing like what I was experiencing previously. One thin I noticed today (I went in to Graphics settings in BFV) is that the option to use DX12 has been removed. That was definitely causing issues for lots of people I suspect. I play on Ultra settings and get a petty good framerate for my UHD monitor which will only support up to 60hz. But it flows very smoothly (depending on the server and internet conditions which are mostly pretty good for me. I am running on Ethernet (Gigabit) from right next to my Inet router. But, I would check your drivers and look at Windows event viewer to see if it is BFV.exe that is crashing or something else is causing these hard crashes. My problem was mainly being dumped back to the desktop in Windows. But only a few blue screen of death crashes. And those were mainly when the game was very new. You may want to try using DDU to clean out your Nvidia drivers and then reinstall clean.

Unfortunately, I'd like to be able to report that the game is running smoothly with no dumping back to the desktop. But, that isn't happening. I am now convinced that the BFV.exe is violating memory in Windows 10. I have attached to separate instances where BFV.exe crashed. This is usually related to a memory violation in Windows. So, it is now up EA/Dice to fix this problem. As we the users cannot. No amount of driver tinkering or fiddling with settings has been able to resolve this issue. Let us all see how long it takes EA/Dice to fix this. Oh, another thing: The TTK nonsense is not working very well. I get shot through buildings, rocks, prone behind objects. Or I never get a chance to fire a shot because so many hits are one shot kills. Also, the recon is OP. EA might as well have called BFV "Sniper Elite wanna be". And why even bother with a health system if so many weapons have one shot kill capability or close to it. This game seems like it is still a beta and we, the customers are just one big test group. I enjoy playing. Love the graphics and game play flow. But, there are many issues to resolve before this game will ever be voted a top 10 game.
- 7 years agoI’m thinking the same, I’ve tried everything as well. I haven’t tried the future frame rendering off yet, however I’m not convinced this will do anything as I have even crashed in the menus.
