High CPU usage in BF5

Hey guys. Recently I noticed, that my CPU started to run too hot in Battlefield 5 (Probably after summer have been started). It is heating up to 99-100 degrees, and that is non normal. Even on small game modes.

If u need to know my characteristics so here they are:

Laptop: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58;

CPU:  Intel Core i5-12450H;

GPU: Geforce RTX 3050;

16 GB RAM;
The game is going smoothly with no lags or something, but oh my God how hot is my CPU. . . Like it is having its own WWII at home

  • Hello @afterbrofast113,

    Your having PC related issues, check out the following list for advice.

    • Check CPU Cooler:

      • Ensure that your CPU cooler (whether it's an air cooler or liquid cooler) is functioning properly. Check if the fan is spinning and if there are any signs of obstruction or damage.
    • Replace Thermal Paste:

      • Over time, thermal paste can dry out or lose its effectiveness, leading to poor heat transfer between the CPU and the cooler. Consider replacing the thermal paste with a high-quality thermal compound.
    • Clean Dust Buildup:

      • Open up your PC case and clean out any dust buildup, especially around the CPU cooler and fans. Dust can insulate components and prevent effective cooling.
    • Ensure Proper Airflow:

      • Check that your case has adequate airflow. Ensure that intake and exhaust fans are working correctly and that there are no obstructions blocking airflow to the CPU cooler.
    • Monitor Temperatures:

      • Use software like HWMonitor, Core Temp, or MSI Afterburner to monitor your CPU temperatures in real-time while playing Battlefield 5. This can help you pinpoint exactly when and how hot the CPU gets.
    • Adjust In-Game Settings:

      • Lowering the graphical settings in Battlefield 5 can reduce the workload on your CPU and GPU, potentially lowering temperatures. Particularly settings related to shadows, reflections, and anti-aliasing can have a significant impact.
    • Check CPU Usage:

      • Ensure that no background applications are consuming excessive CPU resources while you are playing. Sometimes unnecessary programs can cause the CPU to work harder than it needs to.
    • Consider CPU Undervolting (Advanced):

      • If you are comfortable with advanced settings, undervolting your CPU can reduce power consumption and heat output. However, this requires careful adjustment to avoid instability.
    • Inspect for Hardware Issues:

      • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with your CPU or motherboard. In this case, consulting with a professional technician may be necessary.

    Best regards,
