In-game Chat Filter Feedback.

With the search filter I found a topic about the chat almost one year old.  It at least stated July.  Topic Chat blocking words  But I felt the need to create a new topic, and especially in the gen...

    @Geri_m3ster Change username unfortunately. Go to Origin app, click on Origin, click on EA account and billing and change username. I had the same this week after years using a username and even have been active with this username on this forum without comment. So now changed it , bit forced to do.

Tyrants names, such as "Adolf *" is banned, but similar tyrants such as "Joseph Stalin" or "Augusto Pinochet" is NOT.
Why?
This goes to show the political ideology EA and DICE are behind and which ideologies they sanction and do not.

I don't care for politics, especially in a game, I am there to get away from politics and such nonsense, not be nudged into specific ideological directions.

This is an obvious attempt at subtle social engineering and the developers are clearly biased when it comes to which tyrants and mass-murderers are "ok" and which ones aren't.

It's funny how a logo with the Hindenburg says "lest we ever forget" or something like that, is in the game, but discussing our species history isn't possible.
So are we supposed to forget, so this madness could repeat itself? 
I was taught in school to never forget what happened in those days, so it could never, ever, repeat itself. And nothing was censored, the brutal reality was conveyed to us students, so we would remember what atrocities were committed in the name of political ideologies. 
I do not sanction any ideology that differs people from people or that supports genocide. 

I find this repulsive and disrespectul to all the millions of lives lost to these murderous tyrants. Left or right, I do not care. 
A psychopat murderer is exactly that and nothing less, no matter how much you believe in their ideologies. 

Did any of the DICE developers attend to history class?
It would seem not.

    @TheDaggz Although not agreeing with everything in your post, just wanted to leave my respect and XP. It is not Dice or EA only but a wave which is going on in the world. Like a new generation has been created , indoctrinated from school / college, media, office. From your post I assume (always need to be carefully with that) you are not a millennium. Where in the 90's in my opinion more proper education was given , and there was a freedom of speech, and more respect for each others opinions. I guess because what they now call the "boomers" didn't forgot the blood,sweat and tears it costed to get the freedom. We see this back in covid 19, I'm taking covid very seriously, and can only hope it will be back to normal soon. Although everybody who is asking questions or criticism on the government is set away as a crazy person, a complot theory one.

    So back to EA / Dice ,I do not believe they filter and have the emblem text on purpose. It is how the world is changing and some people , never knew better.This behavior is exactly the same as in European politics, and cancel culture is hotter then ever.

    So again,there should be no chat filter or censorship. And people need to work on not being so offended easily.

    Work in progress!

    The Chat Filter is still undergoing configuration, so what we'll do is forward the examples you've listed to that team for review. We appreciate your time in flagging these to us. 

    With that said, let's not dive into politics, and stick to talking about either the filter, or the game itself. Anything you see in the filter that raises questions, just let us know - we'll check it out.

      Hi @Straatford87 a big problem is we are not getting the results of the review back, so we are just sitting here waiting getting more annoyed.

        We'll try to do better in getting back to you on changes. With that, I'll add that it's also work in progress.

        My answer to that is maybe we don't have anything against some of the words you mentioned. But instead the filter is picking it up by accident. That's why we appreciate your reports so we can investigate where we still need to "school" the filter.

        With that said, I also want to highlight @EA_Atic's comment. Some words being picked up are clearly against our mission outlined in the Positive Play Charter. I encourage everyone to read that.

    I am also having this issue as well. Stopped being able to chat around 3 weeks ago out of the blue with no message or anything.  I've had this username with EA for like... 10 years now? Ever since BF3 came out and people in the BF community that I would play with me all that time ago will recognize my name in chat and we'll talk. I'd really prefer not to change my name! Hope this can be resolved.

      Hey so I just bought the BF4/V/I bundle on STEAM and I'm playing Battlefield V.

      Text and VoIP chat are not working for me at all, and I think it's because my username is "BloodyIron". And this thread seems to confirm that.

      I would like to point out this game is ESRB rated M for Mature, with the following aspects:

      "BLOOD
      STRONG LANGUAGE
      VIOLENCE"

      Blood is _LITERALLY IN THE ESRB RATING DESCRIPTION_ and yet it's disallowed in my username? What kind of hypocrisy are you trying to pull here? This is a game about death, gore, and violence, and you can't even handle my name using the word Blood? Unacceptable.

      I'm an adult, trying to play a game literally targeted for AND RATED FOR adults, and yet you're treating me and others like children.

      I'm going to continue playing, because I'm really in it for the gaming. But since I have ZERO ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY TEAM, I'm really getting a sub-par experience. I want to work with my team, and you're literally preventing me from doing that because of an over-zealous automatic censorship system in a game literally build around violence, killing, blood, gore and more. What a joke you are EA. It's not like you don't understand why this is a problem, you _REFUSE TO FIX IT_.

        Today i wrote to my team: kill the garbage out from bridge, means there was a camping tank. Of course te "garbage" word was censored. I really afraid to wrote some colour to chat to be not called and censored as racist 🙂. The fact,that cheaters everywhere ruining the game doesn't bothering the "honoured "EA people,but the "garbage" and other not offensive words seems to be "dangerous"
