Got around the same problem. I don't have the USB drive so I decided to try saving to online storage then delete the save file on the console, and then do the the campaign. It didn't work since It said I still had all 6 letters but, all the other challenges I could redo. Still says 0/6 letter on the menu however.

Edit: still got nothing but, I have seen some people rolling around with the skin
