Major Issue (PC): Borderless + Fullscreen not working in NVIDIA Surround mode

I have an Nvidia Surround set up with my 3 x 1080p monitors (portrait mode 3240x1920 resolution, 75Hz refresh rate).

I am unable to play in my preferred Borderless mode as it seems like the display is off center, wayyyy to the left! Here's a screenshot.

I also can't really play in Fullscreen mode because once I'm in the game I can't Alt-tab to my desktop. What happens is it will get real choppy and instead of going into the desktop, the screen goes black for a couple seconds then comes back but still in game. Most of the time I have to restart the game when this happens because it won't even register the keyboard/mouse movements/commands anymore.

To make matters worse, Windowed mode is buggy, as well. Regardless of the selected resolution, it is always set to the same small window size. Here is a screenshot. You have to manually stretch it out with your mouse to get the desired size, regardless of selected resolution.

Considering the fact that the game was released a month late and has already been out almost a month, I don't understand how there are still some very basic technical bugs in the game, like this. I am really disappointed.

Thanks for the Dxdiag. 🙂 @BoBoMeMnOn

An intriguing issue, for SWBF2 it just randomly starting to work for you, do remember if it was after a patch or an update to the PC?

Looking at the Dxdiag it saying you are on older windows build, can look in windows update to see if you have any updates.to see if that helps you.

Thank and I hope you also have a nice weekend!

  • Hey @BoBoMeMnOn,

Thanks for all the detailed information and screenshots. It helps a lot to understand the issue better. :D

If I understand you correct, you can drag out border less from edge to another?

Have you done any troubleshooting/workaround your self to see if anything solves it?

Can you upload a dxdiag so we can see what hardware and drivers you are using.

  • Hi EA_Atic,

No, I can't drag out borderless at all. It's stuck in that odd position from my screenshot.

It's the Windowed mode that I can drag/stretch with my mouse.

As far as any troubleshooting goes; I updated my Nvidia Drivers, fresh install and scoured the EA forums for similar issues with previous titles but there was nothing helpful.

I've attached my DxDiag. Let me know if you need any other info as I'm very eager to help get this problem resolved.

    Cheers

  • Hey @EA_Atic

FYI: Instead of Alt-tabbing to go from Fullscreen to the desktop, which doesn't work for me right now as it basically freezes the game, I discovered that it's better to Alt-Enter, instead.

That basically switches the game from Fullscreen to Windowed mode, so once I'm in Windowed mode I can easily go to my desktop. Then, all I have to do is Alt-Enter again to switch back to Fullscreen mode. So, at least that part of the problem is somewhat worked around.

But the Borderless mode issue is still there and is quite frustrating as that is the best mode for my needs. I hope they get it fixed.

P.S. I used to have the same issue with Borderless mode for SW:Battlefront 2 and they got that fixed at some point, too. So, a solution does exist!

    Have a great weekend!
