Who in the world would enter a First Person Shooter and at times NOT shoot anybody?
Who takes several long boring minutes sneaking across a map, just to steal a Far Flag?
Who patiently hides and waits for the Enemy to abandon a Flag that they just re-took?
Well . . I do , but only because this wonderful Game lets me do those things .
Run past the guy on the AA who is doing what appears to be absolutely NOTHING.
Stop and watch though and you'll see he picks parts of the sky to stare at for seconds at a time .
What is he up to anyway, wasting time like this with no planes visible in the sky at all?
Well . . honestly, he's listening to birds and wind . . AND the faint sound of an approaching engine .
He picks a new spot in the sky and now he's moving the AA left and right - CENTERING the sound .
There, finally is the plane but now - Why isn't he shooting at it? . . Oh right , it's not in range yet .
His first few shots are always for an adjustment to the trajectory of the ones he fires next .
Those will almost ALL of them hit a target that never really enters the arena as it veers away .
That's when you finally notice there's no Enemy Air supporting its Ground Forces, in an Air Map !
. . . turns out that those guys doing 'nothing' at all are often doing 'something' after all .
The plane is downed and now there's time to chat with the AAer , who says :
"The birds seem to like that bush over there ; the wind whistles a bit as it hits that rocky crag . ."
'Oh so you like the immersion' you might comment appreciatively .
"Immersion" he says "is getting kicked while in a bush by an Enemy 'Looking' but not 'Searching' for you ".
