Mouse lag

3rd major issue I've encountered and had to come to the forums about.

Mouse lag!

Literally nothing else lags. the game runs at a great frame rate, it was working just fine last night. I've tried unplugging and replugging the mouse, I've restarded the game, I've restarted the
PC, I've turned Future Frame thingy off.

I run the game with every setting maxed out on a rig with the following specs:

Ryzen 2700x

Geforce RTX 2060 Super

16GB ram

installed on an SSD

Corsair M65 mouse

The game has run on this setup fine (bar audio problems that meant i've had to find a different way to play audio that neither EA nor DICE could help with) since December with every setting maxed out, from DX12 to everything being ultra, i've had 0 issue. Which means turning settings down isn't the answer.

I've even recorded a video. The mouse in the menus is completely fine, as you'll see.

I look forward to the usual copy and paste answers from the drones that I've come to expect with my BFV problems.

  • update, not really, but sorta.

lowering graphics to minimum and turning DX12 off does nothing other than increase frame rate (which was never the problem anyway), mouse lag still exists. all servers i play on have a ping of around 24.

@TheDarkCenturion Have you tried enabling RAW mouse input in the advanced controler settings? This did the trick for me..you could also try to disable the mouse software during the game or set the DPI to 1600 and disabling the sniper button or setting this to the same dpi as set for normal operation
  • I have raw mouse input already enabled, exiting corsair ICUE seemed to remove the mouse lag..... but leave my PC LED's rather bare. Should note I've not changed anything with ICUE in well over a month, so i'm not sure why there's an issue now - earlier today I updated the software too and checked for mouse firmware.

The question now becomes: How do i keep the mouse from lagging while also keeping my pretty lights?

I never found a solution for that rather then getting faster hardware or attempting to overclock the system. Just make sure the mouse software minimizes itself to the windows tray after boot to save resources....

-also update the chipset software and bios regularly for faster system response

-virus scan / adwcleaner, registry cleaner / ccleaner, HDD defragment / SSD trimm

  • Software automatically remains in the tray without actually opening onto the screen at startup, other than this and a virus scan (not that i should need to, I have Mcafee always on), there's not many of the options that are really viable - it wasn't that long ago that i last updated my chipset and bios, overclocking isn't something i'd like to risk playing around with. On top of that, with no system changes implemented by me, and seemingly no BF5 patch between the time I played problem free~ and when the problem began, I don't understand how this issue is even occuring in the first place.

I don't understand how this issue is even occuring in the first place? Slow cpu / too much too process, bad usb driver, bios or chipset software or heat can all cause this.

-check if the system has different kind of USB ports (USB1.0, USB2.0, USB3.0 or USB3.2) and try the fastest available

Having bad system files can result in these problems so its a possible solution in some cases. Especially the drive defragmentation can help. Also try

    reset the system BIOS

use the SFC command utility to fix system files on Windows 10

    windows cleanboot

    driver cleaner procedure

also update the motherboard BIOS and chipset driver and defragment again if i haven't suggested that before. and repair / defragment windows registry
