Yeah, sorry if I came off a bit of a butthole. I only bought the game last month for the Pacific content so not being able to progress was very annoying. I only got to it now instead of launch because of how much fans of the game were told not to buy the game because they had issues of how DICE was portraying WW2. Then again in hindsight, the criticism to the first reveal trailer is more a multiplayer gameplay and I can accept customisation and having female characters. But the response to the initial criticism is what put me off despite having played BF since Bad Company 2. Anyways...
You are right, if the devs don't have anything new then there is no point in saying anything. But all they have communicated is that they are aware. At this point that is not good enough.
Considering how much the community dislikes patch 5.2 in addition to this game breaking issue, what they devs need to communicate now is that they are sorry. So far they have stayed quiet apart from telling us that they will NOT revert this patch and decide to make adjustments instead. This statement of course is not good enough for the playerbase.
But to go back to the current issue. This patch, DICE's actions, have broken the game especially for new players. If their intention to increase TTK and excessive spotting capabilities was to make it for new players (because why else would they put in this change that no one asked for) to be able to pick up the game, having this game breaking bug would drive new players away than dying to quickly when being shot in the game.
Considering how close we are too Christmas, it is all DICE's fault for breaking the game and implementing rubbish balance changes and they deserve every backlash they get, every lost customer, every goodwill lost, every confidence in their product gone. DICE really needs to think very carefully how they respond to the playerbase and what they need to do to gain even half of the goodwill they have lost. At his point, nothing short of some significant ingame compensation is needed.
DICE cannot afford to let this bug run through a whole week.
