Almost sounds like a graphics driver not working right. I've heard people having issues depending on the drivers and rig they are using. Think most are rolling back drivers.

It is a possibility but not probable - why would the game work just fine without any hiccups when not in multiplayer mode - and all other applications too - if there was a problem with the driver? Anyway, did a forced downgrade, didn't help unfortunately, so I'm back at 417.22
