[PC] GTX 1070 8GB very low FPS in BFV MP

After having searched for quiet some time now and tried many different settings, Im still not able to get above 40fps in Multiplayer, on large battlefields even only around 15fps, which is surprising for my setup. Single player runs a bit smoother, but haven't properly monitored the fps - not above 50-60.

I have also not found any solved case in the forums here. So I give it a shot myself now, perhaps suspecting a low GPU usage(?). Both game and geforce experience suggest ultra settings.

I have attached the DxDiag for my specs. In summary:

Intel i7-8770K, gtx1070 8GB, 16GB (1bar), SSD for Windows10 and BF, graphics up to date using geforce experience (I never had to disable it in order to properly run a game), windows driver up to date, GSync 1080@144hz and running wifi with a smooth ping of around 20>. The laptop is barely 2 months old.

Here would be a short video with drawGraph etc, the fps in the top left is from gf exp: https://youtu.be/DXtdpqkjbHc

Odd is that the actual lagging is not really visible in the video, towards the end when I get shot I was actually stuttering for a second there.

I have tried all of the suggestions and settings from this site, which summarizes pretty much all of the suggestions you can currently find around the net: www.gamingscan.com/best-settings-for-battlefield-5/

Including power management high performance, optimized nvidia 'manage 3D settings', reduced ingame graphic settings, DirectX 12 off and on (on works just a little better) etc.

Seeing from my point of view that all the settings so far should work, I wonder what else could be blocking out the performance, and if there could be any correlation with the GPU usage seen in my video? Although Im not sure if I interpret this right.

Help would be greatly appreciated to finally be able to enjoy the game!

Let me know if you need more info or footage.

  • Hi @EA_Barry I have to give an update:

My case is solved, it turned out my CPU was the issue, not the game. CPU was not running at full capacity. Figured it out using a stress test while looking at the CPU usage in the task manager and it only ran at 21% max usage and 0.78ghz speed.

The solution was to reset my BIOS to Optimized Default (despite me changing anything).

Game runs like a gem now, with slightly adapted graphics, +-150FPS in large battlefields.

    Cheers!
