Rapid fire is for scrubs
You need to remove rapid fire from the game entirely, it’s a joke. People getting top of the team all the time with no skill simply because they are using rapid fire is just ridiculous. Get rid of it...

Is it that the SMGs are OP, or is it the LMGs are just weak?
It’s that rapid fire exists. But I suppose it is also that SMGs are overpowered as well as LMGs being far too weak. It’s mostly rapid fire though.
If you're including MMGs with LMGs then I have had no issue killing anyone using anything with the browning 1919. If you're separating the two, yes LMGs are underpowered, I never use them. As for the rapid fire thing, most guns dont add to much extra rate of fire to the gun except the ones you pointed out and even with the type 2a and rapid fire, I've found that i get outshot outside of 20 meters unless I'm bobbing into cover and healing constantly, so maybe back off a bit from them?
But they always seem to laser beam you at stupid range regardless so backing off never works.

Depends on game mode, maps. Wannasee rapid fire watch lockee on bf 4.
I played Locker and it wasn’t anywhere near that bad. People on BFV only use Tommy gun, Type 2A diabetes, and ZK all with rapid fire. Nobody in BF4 only used the same 3 guns. There was always a wide selection of guns people used
