Ray tracing with no reflections in battlefield V and AMD

I have Asus rog strix g15 advantage edition laptop with Ryzen 9 5900hx and amd rx 6800m graphics cards with RDNA2 architecture. I enabled DXR and dx12 with no point as I don't see any reflections on cars or water or surfaces...etc I followed most of the troubleshooting processes by agents with no solution. My gpu driver is up to date. Can anyone help me?

  • @el2ady24 you have a 6800m, not sure but I think that is a 6700 for desktops... try downloading older driver for any RX card, choose 6700XT instead of yours and see if it'll work...

@VVarlockSRBor u should read more top reply from EA moderator"...RTX in Battlefield only supports NVidia cards, Battlefield V was never updated to work with the lates AMD tech."

you are aware that sometimes even stuff doesn't know what works and what doesn't... I've talked to him already, this is not the only thread where AMD graphics have bugs with DXR... just get over it, and go to your nVidia if you are so persistent, and don't bother replaying... I've posted you proof of working, and most guys that had same problems resolve those problems with older drivers...

It doesn't wanna do this, whichever old driver I install, it gives me that error while launching any game detected amd driver 0.0.0. I don't know the reason behind this, shall I get windows 11 and try. I have two issues actually, the first one is that there is no real tracing reflections in bf v, the second one is that there is no recording and streaming tab in AMD Radeon software

  • Does battlefield V support ray tracing for battlefield V for AMD Radeon Rx 6800m which is a laptop GPU announced in q2 2021, some people said that this GPU doesn't support ray tracing in bf V, that's why I don't see reflections on water, surfaces or cars. Is that true?

  • Hello 🙂 I wonder if this is still the case? I played the single player wit Raytracing on with my new RX 6800 XT and it seemed to work ok, the graphics card was definitely. under a heavier load. But playing multiplayer, i ran into crashes. So i ended up turning off raytracing to see if it would fix it, and indeed it did.

Now the gpu isn't even running at max clocks and even the cpu load seems lower!

I know this is an old thread but it was useful, and the main reason i tried turning raytracing off
