Re: BFV Gets frame drop over time

@Killinzero_TTV I agree I was shocked I had to OC my gear to get my FPS in BFV it will be inserting to see if I will need to OC anything on my new build once my ram gets off the slow boat. The build is done just need my ram 4 weeks since I paid for it...back ordered and they said 4-6 weeks to get it in. Fingers crossed my ram comes in soon as its killing me looking at this rig as its the most over the top build I have ever done.  And I want into bios so bad lol. Let me know if the FPS come up with just the setting alone or if you had to add the last part to the cfg.

well i regret to inform you that the problem is still here play 2-3 rounds and same thing. 

The only thing that is working is restarting my computer every 3-4 rounds. i feel that either its boiling down to something with my OS is causing my game to do this or its battlefield that has a memory leak. i really dont want to resort to reformatting again to see if this works.. 

@Killinzero_TTV It could be a mucked up cfg so give this a try and see if you still crash and for video setting in game put it on low for testing ...

Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
Origin, settings, General


C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield V

BFV folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BFV is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BFV it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BFV folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Repair BFV
4- When done go test your game. If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BFV.

And make sure this is done ingame please....

First step open Nvidia Control panel under 3D settings go to Adjust image settings with preview

Pick use my preference and set it to performance and hit apply.

Next step in game video settings advanced .....



Make sure frame rate limiter is set to 200

future frame rendering- on

vertical sync- off

GPU memory restriction- off

Below set everything to low



Under video Basic ....



motion blur set to 0

@2042isNotBFI have a question if im having this issue with BFV would i have this issue with other battlefields? because i think i hopped in a BF4 match and it was doing the same thing, would you also think i have a deeper problem?

@Killinzero_TTV no not always as BFV uses way more CPU etc then any other BF game ...BF1 or BF4. I did a edit to my post give that a try. But it is always a chance more so if you get BSOD and other issues , I will give you windows scans to try as I do not think I ever had you try this forgive me if I am wrong lol helping 4 ppl today lol....

Test your windows for errors as a clean windows install does not always make a stable windows.

NOTE: Running SFC does not guarantee the crash will not happen, but it will ensure it is not because a windows Dll or file is corrupted in windows.

This works in all windows O/S vista Win7, Win8 , Win8.1 and win 10 windows system file checker :] Copy and past this to note pad and put it on your desktop. As open programs can give you errors when you run this.

sfc /scannow, ever hear of it if not your going to love this, it will inspect all the important windows files as well as the windows DLL files. If windows system file checker finds any issues with the windows files and windows DLL files it will replace them / try to fix them. This little tool as well as the event viewer on a PC saved me and fully helped me fix my BF4 issues as well as saved me many a format since I found it. This is the best toy they ever put in windows :womanvery-happy:

-For win7 go to start/ bottom left screen / windows globe .. Right click in search type cmd and right click cmd pick run as administrator.
-For win 8.1 right mouse click start bottom left of screen / windows box and pick command prompt administrator.

1-Open administrator command prompt and close web pages and programs like Origin, Steam etc.

2-Type or copy and paste in sfc /scannow and hit enter, This takes 5 min to 15 min SSD vs HD

3-This can go one of a few ways ..... no errors ... it fixed some errors ..... could not fix all errors...... does not finish checking and errors out ....... and the last one could not fix errors at all :/

4-After its done REBOOT PC and Run sfc /scannow again even if you had no errors the first time or had errors, could not fix run sfc /scannow again and when its done a second time reboot. You need to do this a and get no errors 2 x in a row ...

5-So if you ran it 2x and no errors your safe you can stop. If you had errors first time but not the second then run sfc /scannow again and when its done reboot. You need to get could not find any errors 2 x to be safe. If it still finds errors try and run it a few more times until it finds no errors 2x AND ALWAYS REBOOT BETWEEN RUNNING sfc /scannow

6-If you get a message indicating that it can not be repaired and you ran sfc /scannow more then 3x in a row on win vista or 7 mm you need a format or try repair win 7 :/ But after format or repair and all updates are done run sfc /scannow to make sure your windows is stable same deal 2x error free reboot between them.

NOTE-If your O/S is Win8 or Win 8,1 or win10 then you can run the next few command lines in administrator command prompt. Sadly this does not work for win vista or 7 :/ Note: After you run each command line Reboot PC.

This next part of windows scans is only for windows 8 & windows 8.1 and win 10

Reboot PC after you run each command line and close programs and web pages.

And same deal as above run command prompt administrator.

1-This command line will scan the health of your PC:
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

2-This command line will restore the health of your PC and you don't lose anything on your PC :
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Note: If you get errors with the two command lines above and it cant be fixed with second command line and if you are on windows 8.1. Then use third command line but be warned it could take up to two hrs to fix your PC but it will save you a format. I had a friend test this on a PC with errors when it could not be fixed with second command line. :womanvery-happy:

This next part of windows scans is only for windows 8.1 and win 10

And same deal as above run command prompt administrator.

1-If restore heath gave you errors then you can always try this command line:

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

2-If you get Error 0x800F081F with the restore health scan then run this command line. After you reboot your PC then run third command line to be sure your windows is fully stable.

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore

just came to mind i did this before and it had files that were corrupt and it fixed itself. but here is my current attempt with both suggestions you gave me

@Killinzero_TTV If you want add me but I am on kitchen laptop this sec not on my game rig and tend to remove ppl when they dont talk ingame or I dont game with them lol. MMM so windows sometimes the scans fix it this is why I run them.. the same scan  2x with reboots between. Over the years they have saved me a few formats but not always lol. How much of a fPS drop do you get , I need to go look at your screen shots again. Did you try the cfg yet?

I gotcha, but my starting frame rate is 135-165 

and i think i did do the cfg suggestion 

@Killinzero_TTV This is not a bad FPS drop as it all depends on map and whats going on around you.

it gets worse if i play longer. it has gone down to 30-45fps which at that point becomes unplayable

 Have you got the GPU OC? Edit sent you a pm on AHQ as well as I am not  saying to OC it just asking if you did. My husband had mega issues with his Gigabyte card when he tried to OC it :/

@2042isNotBF i replied to your pm, as far as OCing  the GPU, however i used the factory boost settings it has.

Update: Installed Ccleaner and did a registry clean and so far things are looking up. ive played about 5 rounds today without a hiccup, i even played some call of duty black ops4 ( that came was also noticeably effected too) and i was getting the frames i expected

@Killinzero_TTV Nice test for a day or two to be sure as well as the update is today in BFV so we will see what it brings as well.

So @Killinzero_TTV - did CCleaner solve your issue? I'm curious 🙂

After every single patch BF have had since 1942, a thread claiming the patch has caused performance issues appear.
(Pretty much happens to every other game with triple-A graphics of this size too.)
Most of the time the performance drop doesn't exist or it's a local issue. I'm not saying that is the case this time but the trend is worth noticing.

Soo update, i believe that ive resolved my issue by cleaning my registry using Ccleaner and it hasnt tanked. but since the recent patch my frame had dropped so im going to wait for EA/Dice to do some optimization to the game

@Killinzero_TTV For now I marked the topic as solved on my CC cleaner / video card post you can always remove it if you don't agree.
