Hey there @chewonit14
I searched our forum boards and I see that it's only posted one other time where a player was disconnected from the servers when doing this. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Recording-game-clip-on-xbox-disconnects-user-from-ea-servers/m-p/7171965/highlight/true#M670
With the amount of players out there on Xbox it's likely we would see many more reports about this if it was a common issue. It's very possible this can be fixed with some basic troubleshooting with the console.
Have you tried the following below?
- Power cycle the console: http://bit.ly/XB1_PowerCycle
- Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.
- Check the online and local storage for all your recorded clips to see if it's close to being full. Clear up some space if that's the case.
- Delete your Gamertag from the console and re-add it.
- Reinstall the game (if it's on an external hard drive and it's always doing this, try installing it on the internal to see if that has any effect)
- Adjust the amount of time you can record the clip for (last 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc.)
