Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Enable DX12 in the settings, Enable DXR for Raytracing. Start Operation Underground on any mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? The metallic or reflecting surfaces become incredibly bright inside the metro. Like there is something wrong with the shaders and materials. Every surface and tiles in the metro station are also very dimly reflective and almost give off a grey glow. https://imgur.com/a/NmhjSII
What should be happening instead? It should look correctly lit and shaders should be a lot less glossy.

  • Dear Jer9-Carver,

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue with your brightness. This may be a known issue. I have included a link with a possible fix.

Battlefield V known issues and bugs

    PC

    Lighting is too bright in-game

Try switching off HDR in the video settings. Restart your game once you’ve done that and you should see a change in the lighting right away.

After trying the steps above, you should be in a better place. Keep playing and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for posting and don't stop shooting.

    All the best,

    Hello uncensorious,

I've tried the solution/workaround you have told me. So I went to the video settings and switched the setting High Dynamic Range from "Auto" to "Off". Made sure to restart the game and joined a server running the Operation Underground map.

Sadly, it appears the issues are still present. (These screenshots were taken with HDR off)

Considering the fix called it a lighting issue I tried switching the lighting quality setting between "low" and "ultra", but it doesn't seem to affect them at all. So I'm inclined to believe that this fix doesn't solve the issue with the metallic surfaces of Operation Underground.

Also, I can't recall noticing any issues with rtx on other maps. For example here's some screenshots of the white house interior in Rotterdam. This is one of the more intensive use of RTX I could think of, but there doesn't seem to be any issues regarding reflective surfaces. They don't seem to be as completely white or too dimly reflective (Apart from maybe the golden linings and the upper ceiling.)

Either way, thanks for the suggestion!
