Rx 5700xt Awful performance

Hi Answers HQ community:

I have a really frustrating problem with my RX 5700xt. Many games (specially BF5) have a performance that is not worthy to a 420€ card, even my laptops gtx 960m is much more stable (but doesnt give a lot fps overall).

I have read, that it could be a frostbite problem but Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) performs much more decent than BF5, with Enhanced sync on (in game vsync off) and vice versa. The game runs mostly at 90-100 fps and drops to 40-50 make freezes, and when it turns back to normasl im dead. I tried FFR and DX12, with no improvement, and DirectX 12 was much worse with 70-80 fps with even more drops under 50. The graphics are alwyas on High, and i tried medium with no improvement.

The other games (Overwatch, SWBF2, Apex Lengends, even CSGO) dont perform as i would expect, i spend a lot of money in this gaming rig (1200€ approx) and i dont think i have a bottleneck  (the gpu works at 80% load with max 80°C), i´ve checked the others components and they perform as expected.

Components:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X  (stock cooler)

GPU: RX 5700XT 50th anniversary edition

RAM: 8Gb DDR4-2666 (max on 7Gb load)

MOBO: Asus TUF B450-Plus Gaming

SSD: Samsung 860QVO 1TB

PSU: 650W Gold+

OS: Win10 Pro

Edit: My vision of playable is 1080p at High settings +90fps (what the card should handle) and i dont OC annything (i suspect the ram is the problem)

  • I would try upgrading the ram to 16gb.

I also had 8gb only in the past and when i was playing BF5 i had ALOT and i mean ALOT of stutter going on after upgrading to 16gb stutter gone.
