Sliding on PC is hard

I find it really hard to double tap the "prone" key to be able to perform a slide.

I noticed that there is a cooldown time between the animations. But when i try to execute the animations when i want to flee from combat, it never works immediately and i end up dead most of the times. It seems like the delay between one tap and another is too short for the animation to be triggered. As can be seen in the video,  when i tried to slide for the first time, it looks like i was tea bagging, but i tried as fast as i could to double tap the "prone" key (X key).
