I've got the same problem on the PC version. It says 14/14 letters with orange checkbox ticked on, but in the button menu it says "13/14". It's the 4th letter from act 1 that is missing behind the button (just like in the screenshot of the OP), but we did collect it obviously.
It didn't unlock the knife either.
Yeah, thanks for responding, I'm glad that's it's not just me having this problem so it would be seen as more of a priority but to fix.
