I have exactly the same issue. I thought that was because of 8GB of RAM on my computer that were too low for the game but, since you have 16gigs of RAM, it definitely should not be happening.

    I'm awaiting for a fix

Sound won't work if the microphone is set to a different device than the speakers, apparently.

I fixed it by setting the microphone:

    - Connect your headset

    - Right click on the little speaker on the task bar, pick Sound Settings

    - Under Input device, select the microphone for your headset.

If you've set it once, your computer should automatically use the right microphone even after unplugging the headset and plugging it back in.

This shouldn't be necessary; it's definitely a bug.  Other games with 2 way audio on this rig do not suffer from this issue.
