A few hours ago I captured an obvious example of the matchmaker misbehaving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abm25CcneM8. The video is 12 minutes long (with a lot of painfully long black screens...) so here is a summary with timestamps:
Matchmaking for Tactical Conquest ignored an actual Official Tactical Conquest server in my region (shown at 1:19) and instead placed me on an unrelated Community Game running Breakthrough. This happened three times in a row (shown at 0:02, 1:40, 3:03) even though the Tactical Conquest server was sitting there waiting for more players the entire time. If this alone isn't enough to raise a few eyebrows, then nothing else will.
Eventually the matchmaker decided that the actual Tactical Conquest server was fine so it directed me there (4:57), but then on a subsequent attempt I was sent to another unrelated Community Game on the other side of the world! (6:20).
Testing with Outpost—a different playlist that is way less popular than Tactical Conquest and had zero servers running at the time (9:44)—produced the expected results: the matchmaker formed a squad with just me in it (no other players queuing up, actual low demand), then after a couple of minutes it spawned a fresh new server for me to seed (12:13), instead of throwing me on a completely unrelated Community Game.
Something is clearly wrong with the matchmaker. danisoff please forward this to a CM if you can.
