tiny "m" in center of screen?

a small "m" pops up in the middle of my screen. seems part of the hud.  its usually there for a few seconds then goes away.  what is it? can i get rid of it?

    @icculusp It's a bug from the latest update. This has actually become a meme on the BFV Reddit page now.

    @icculusp It is a targeting system with the kits. Or locating, cannot remember the term. Its handy to equip for knowing if enemy is close by
