Turn off updates

Is it possible to stop the downloads on battlefield v. every time i log onto origin i get a new update usually at least 20gb and i have to sit for almost an hour before i can play. is there a way around this or a way to turn off updates and still play online?

this is a real pain in the * seeing as i cant get on daily because of life commitments in general but i would still be on frequest enough but yet it seems every time i log on battlefield needs uodated, to clarify the updates are for the game itself and not origin as origin updates are turned off.
