Wake Island Breakthrough , spawn camp fest.

So after playing the new Wake Island map attacking on breakthrough, my team got spawn camped where the other team just targeted with tanks and cannons, my attacking teams spawn area from the corner area of land , if the tank vehicle spawn would have been located on the Ocean side and not the bayside, it would be nicer , so when your spawning on your tank you don't get cannon fire and have little chance to even get away, for a map that was CTE , it seems like little was tested in this game mode for such a no fun experience, this is like the days of Bad Company where you would get spawn camped and the team that can't get out, ends up quitting and the server dies, I think i'll be avoiding Wake island breakthrough until the attacking teams spawn is fixed to were it can't be camped by the defending team.

  • Yep that’s a problem. Had it a few times as well. It destroys the hole round. Attackers are leaving- defenders after a while. Leaving a empty  server behind.

  • G'day @CosmicStriker ,

I can understand your frustration, it's never fun being spawn camped but I'd like to make a few points that may help you change your perspective and help alleviate this situation.

When you look at forums like Reddit and Twitter, you'll see that many people in the community dislike pilots, however these new Pacific maps absolutely rely heavily on fighter support when performing a beach landing. If you want to avoid being spawn trapped by tanks, you need your team fighters to be running setups that use either the glide bomb or 8x rockets and not the incendiary bomb loadout.

While these fighters may have a harder time strafing infantry due to not having the HE rounds designed to decimate, this setup can help destroy the tanks in 1 - 2 passes as a single plane alone. If you have 2 fighters running the setup and communicating, they can take down large groups of tanks in a single run. My suggestion would be to either:

    - Use a fighter yourself with heavy loadout instead of the incendiary loadout if you're not already or,

    - Find people/friends who like flying and have them run the heavy loadout while communicating with the team on where to push up.

Give these suggestions a try and you might be pleasantly surprised at the results 🙂
