@MrNifler This is why I don't like BF5, frankly it was a continuation of the Battlefront formula from BF1 that was a marked departure from pre-Battlefront Battlefield that is popular to this day. I found post Battlefront Battlefield being boring compared to 1942-BF4. All of these are subjective.
Attrition: While this mechanic was heavily nerfed since launch it's still no fun and really limits gameplay compared to non-attrition Battlefield.
Squad Call ins/No Commander: The squad call ins became very spammy and should have been the purview of a Commander which BF5 didn't have. I also hated the explosion knockback.
BF1/5 Class system: These classes were completely unbalanced with the Assault Class (ie "Action Man") being the best overall choice for class choice.
Animations: Everything had an animation which yanked you out of the flow of Battle and got you killed frequently. Animations also killed almost all of the "Only in Battlefield Moments".
No RSP: Community games simply doesn't fill the need that the old RSP did for Communities to thrive long term. CG was a stop gap measure just like BF1's version that checked the block due to community outrage but really didn't fill the need.
Revives: You had an animation which was much slower than 1942-BF1 revives.
Squad Revive: I know some people like this, but I personally think it really takes away from the importance of playing the medic class.
Classes being pigeon holed into specific engagement ranges: In Previous Battlefields through BF4 you could be effective in many different engagement rages from CQB to long range in all classes. Beginning in BF1 DICE tried to put specific classes into specific engagement ranges which was lessened but still present in BF5. DICE tried to reinforce this in some of their multiple unwanted TTK changes
Squad Size: The squad size was reduced from 5 men in BF1 to 4 men which made it harder to play with your friends.
Visibility: Visibility was simply horrible in BF5 and unfortunately some of these issues have persisted into 2042.
Ping System: This was a bad Battle Royale import like many of the objectionable features, the 3D spotting system was much better for visibility and situation awareness.
Vehicle damage: Internal vehicle self repair is bad and limits the need for an engineer to play his class (another lone wolf feature), then you have the various types of damage like glancing blows that was worse than older damage types.
Round balance/No Teamswitch: In Battlefield we need to be able to switch teams to self balance servers and play with your friends. This feature was bafflingly absent in BF5.
The setting: It wasn't a realistic WWII, it was some sort of alternate reality version of WWII which was reinforced by the cosmetics and Elites. I would have been fine with this immersion killing feature if we had a customization killswitch like World of Tanks has.
No Parachute: I prefer the parachute to the combat role.
