Another crash at startup problem

Running Win7 64 Pro, drivers are updated and no joysticks or controllers are plugged in. When starting DS3 from Origin, the screen turns black and after 15 or 20 seconds Origins crashes with an error message, "Origina has encountered a serious problem and must close." DS3 itself is still running, but without Origin running it won't go past "scanning for downloadable contant". Both Origin and DS3 are installed on the same drive.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
