could not initialize display hardware dead space

i tried every solution found on the internet for this error but still doesnt work. i dont think its a video driver all my other games work. just this one doesnt like to start up. downloaded it 2 d...

    hi ,

    i created a settings.txt file in Users/"your user name"/AppData/Local/Electronic Arts/Dead Space

    the following folder wasnt in the folder local at all so i just created the folder /Electronic Arts/Dead Space in local.
    put the settings.txt file provided by GunnyL68 in the folder dead space and it started up !!!!😕mileyhappy:


    so everyone a lot of thanks for figuring this one out .

Hi,

ive updated my drivers several times now and even tried going back to older drivers but that didnt solve the problem .

I,m not using dual monitors.

im runniing windows 8 and set dead space .exe compatibility to vista.

running as admin and so on.

tried pretty much every answer on the net i could find but still nothing.

every time the same error...

If you are using a laptop, try setting the power options in control panel to maximum performance.

What video card and drivers are you using?

If changing the power options does not sort this, post again and we can detail how to manually specify your GPU to be used rather than possibly your Integrated Graphics Processor.

    Hi ,

    I'm not using a laptop.

    Power options are at high peformance.

    Intel core q8200 

    Installed memory 4.00GB

    Windows 8 enterprise N 64 bit

    Videocard Nvidia Geforce GTX 650

    Direct x 11.0

    Driver version 335.23

      1. Open the nvidia control panel
      2. Manage 3D settings, Program settings tab
      3. Click add to choose the program to customize
      4. Click browse and choose: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Deadspace\Dead Space.exe
      5. Set your graphics preferences and click apply.

      Note, your exact location of the Dead Space.exe may be slightly different if you got the game via our On The House offer.

      Again, let us know if this does not help you. Actually, let us know either way please.

        I'd tried it as you suggested but still is giving me the same error.

        I tried every setting available but no luck.

        what can i try next ...... if there is a next?
