Dead Space 2 - black screen on game launch

Checked video before I started the original question, but verified again in case of any change. Running Direct X 11, with Windows on auto-update so it's current, too. Any other ideas?

Try opening the following file, assuming a default install: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\EA Games\Dead Space 2\settings.txt
Then modify the following lines with your display resolution.
Window.Height = 900
Window.Width = 1440
It may be that the values you currently have for height and width are causing the blank screen.

The values in the settings file match my monitor's native values. Next thought?

Try right clicking C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dead Space 2\deadspace2.exe and goto the compatibility tab, tick the box for 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' and then select your previous Operating System from the dropdown. Click Apply and Ok.
