Dead Space 3 don't launch on my computer

Dead Space 3 don't launch on my computer

I recently wanted to play again at Dead Space 3, but even if this was working about many months ago, this doesn't work anymore.
When I launch the game, the link2EA window open, with nothing written in it, and then just shut it down and the game don't launch.

I've tried:

- Updating the graphic drivers

- Disabling all overlays and material acceleration on discord, ea play and steam
- Manually changing game resolution to fit to my screen

- Changing compatibility settings

- Launch EA Play and Steam and Dead Space 3 in administrator

- Launching the game after a clean boot of windows

- Changing screen resolution to "fit" to my screen

- Verifying there is no applications like MSI afterburner that prevent the game to launch

- Looking in the reliability monitor if there is any trace of a malfunction of deadspace.exe

None of this worked, and I'm actually out of ideas.

About my configuration, I have this:

Windows 10 Professional 21H2

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970

Intel Core i5-4590

H97M-E ASUSTeK motherboard

Hoping someone can help me.

The problem is now fixed !
The icon of the EA app has changed, so I give it a try to relaunch the game to see if this was miraculously fixed. And so the EA app ask me administration rights for the game, and i accepted it, and the game launched.

It seems that there was a bug with the EA link app or something when there is no explicite administration right asked by the EA app, but now it's fixed.

    Have all a good day.

  • @EA_Illium I have nothing that will over/under clocking my system, not even my bios parameters. And the try with a new local admin account were unsuccessful.

Also, I'm thinking about the fact that the games installed by Steam are on another drive that the OS. I have a C drive for the OS, a D drive for all of the applications and game, and a E drive for all of the data I have. And if I remember well, I also tried to install Dead Space 3 on the OS drive, unsuccessfully. There is also some discussion about spaces in the installation path of the game, but considering the fact that Dead Space 3 installed himself in a "dead space 3" folder, I'm not sure this can be a problem. Otherwise I don't have any spaces in the installation path.

@Blood_of_wolf To check do you have anything that is over/under clocking your system? If not can we try a new local admin account and see if the game will launch?

@Blood_of_wolf Thanks for running through these, to confirm does this still happen with a clean boot as well?
  • Hello, I've tried some of them, but not all of them, so I put all the EA app and Steam exe in the windows defender exclusion and do a System file check. All of the GPU and Windows update were made, I tried many compatibility settings, cleared the cache and tried with a clean boot.

None of this worked, and for the other applications, I often have Discord running when I try to play, and also KeyPassXC, but even if I close them the game don't launch.

Hi @Blood_of_wolf Thanks for this! To confirm have you already tried following?

Also to check do you typically have other applications running when you try to play?

@Blood_of_wolf YOu can attach one if the recording it to large you can also share a YT link of the clip if that works better.

Would it also be possible to get a DxDiag?

  • I own the game via Steam, and about the screenshot of the page I'm seeing, this disappear too fast to screenshot it. I don't know if I can share a video here ? Maybe this will the best way to show you what's happening when I try to launch the game.
