Dead space 3 freezing all the time randomly

It seems that freezes happen at transistion scenes more than anywhere else. Doorways (airlocks) elevators, or right after a major battle. This is where you get an inventory or progress saving message or an incoming message from the other people. I watch the hard drive indicator light on the ps3. I find that if i do not move or touch the controller ( don't even move your player) until the game is done with whatever I have limited the number of freezes. I have saved the game at the end of each sucessful "progress saving" point. Quit the game and copied my save to a flash drive. That way , when the freeze does happen - and it usually wipes your save file to where it now says o percent complete- I can reload the save and begin again. Isn't this a sad way to have to play a game??? Takes hours and hours of wasted time to work around this stupidity. BTW i am playing this now on my third user name - second disc- and third ps3 console. I have managed to make it midway through my first new game + with only a handful of freezes but with the save file backup plan I am progressing. The other 2 playthroughs i do not have a "clean" un frozen save file. trying to restart at "last uninterupted point" will let me restart but the game will freeze at about the same point as the last time so progress is at an end for those user names unless i delete the save and start all over. But remember- it is not the games fault- it is your ps3 or xbox consoles fault. Never mind that no other games do this- its a hardware error on your end- not the game disc.

It's an issue with EA, not our consoles. If it was our consoles then why do other games work and not Dead Space 3? Hmmm?

Of course its an EA problem. when I said "of course its your console" that was sarcasm.  I can play hours and hours on any other game in my collection with no problem. The only way i can play this game is every time- and i mean EVERYTIME i successfully make it past a "progress saving" point. I save it my self , quit the game , save to a flashdrive and then restart the game. That way when it freezes and wipes out the save file i can deleted the destroyed save a reload the "good one' .  that will usually get me past another level or so till it freezes again. As stated earlier- this is now my third username, second disc, and third ps3 console ( i have 8). I did manage to get to about 80% complete on the other names but failed to make a good back up save. Just past the 86% mark on this playthrough.

hahaha sorry i didn't recognise the sarcasm... but yeh this issue is such a pain man, it seems to be freezing every 5 minutes into play for me but i make it through a checkpoint which saves my progress. So **bleep** frustrating I give up until they fix this.

I was sent a refurbished XBox after having sent mine away due to this issue. Dead Space 3 froze randomly all over the place and it was the only game that did so on my system. I love Dead Space and wasn't for giving up. My new console does not freeze. Problem resolved for me. It seems for my previous XBox was unable to handle the game.

the cause most likely is DLC just like deadspace2 couldnt have some dlc content with out it crashing. As soon as I put awakening on lost a 98 hour game+ because it was corrupted. EA is notorious with conflicts with the original games and rushing out dlc content. Yeah I am pissed. Not preordering anymore games or downloading the dlc. I dont know if you delete the downloaded content if it will corrupt my other saves. Guess I will find out

Playing on ps3. I have found that disabling the internet connection- not just signing out of psn- will allow me to play the game with no freezes. or loss of save files. The only problem is that you cannot do any co-op missions. or complete the game!!!. I have back up copies of my save files so when i have tried going back online to try a co=op mission- like marker containment- and the game freezes on the elevator ride back out- I can reload my save. What a waste of time this game has turned out to be.  I did manage to talk to an "upper level" game tech at EA. He was the one that suggested i load the game on another of my ps3's (have 8) disconnect the internet and play a completely unupdated version of the game. Worked fine for standard game and new game plus all the way through the final battle. I then reconnected to the web, let the game update itself, redownloaded all my add ons, and continued playing levels i had missed an item. (always copying my save file) all is fine unless i try a co=op mission. freezes on the way out of the missions. BTW- i have also found that if you are playing on a new game plus and you try going online with someone one a standard game (he is host) that your save file will magically be changed back to standard - if you manage to get a chance to exit and save- Yes- I have managed a co-op mission or 2 successfully. You also have the problem of the host changing the setting from normal to impossible after you join. this will also screw your save file. I believe they do this because they are looking for someone to join a casual or normal room and then change the setting so they can get completion credit.

this is realy sucks to the balls this is my favorite games please EA fix this damn problem because im not the only one that having the problem with this game it realy makes me sooooo pist off that happen to me on co-op and/or single player it did this **bleep** about 5 times yesterday and today fix this damn problem for all of us.
