Dead Space 3 PC: Can't Move

I just received this game as a gift and after getting past the first part of the game where you start to play as Isaac, I CANNOT move my character.  Using 'E' to pick up the medpack works and then nothing else works, no WASD movement, no Tab, no Space, NOTHING. Not even my mouse keys move.  the only key I can use is Esc.

Please Help!

    Go to Settings, Controls and press the button to reset the defaults.

    I have this exact problem and so does my brother on his copy of the game that we're trying to coop play. Since the EA 'helper' here said nothing useful did you find anything that fixed it?
